Our Story

Proper is a label created by the pioneering multi-brand boutique Triple-Major. Founded in 2009, Triple-Major has embraced a nomadic journey as a boutique, operating in cities like Los Angeles, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai before establishing its current base in Chengdu.

Much like its parent company, Proper is not tethered to any specific city. Rooted in the skateboard culture in Chengdu, the label eschews traditional boundaries, including having a singular designer. The creative process involves contributions from members and friends of the Triple-Major team.

The core collection is intentionally minimal, leaving room for collaborators to reinterpret designs by adding graphics, motifs, or unique remakes. Rather than adhering to seasonal campaigns or lookbooks, Proper focuses on showcasing how diverse individuals style and experience its clothing, resulting in an ever-evolving narrative.

Proper is carried by over 10 retailers across China, including R130, Tsutaya Bookstore, eggsinn, and post post.
